Today was a day of improvement and fun for both sides. The 1sts had a competitive game with Felsted school and the 2nds with close game against SWCH. The 1sts have been lucky to be in the company of Matt Short (Victoria and Melbourne Renegades player), who was the umpire for the Coggeshall game and Brad Young (ex-Australian spinner) who’s son was playing for Felsted.

Our 1sts had a relaxed start to their bowling with many extras and runs off the first 10 overs. However momentum shifted after the lunch break at over 30. They managed to only let through 100 runs in the last 20. Lachlan Bird and Ben Crawford looked very tidy at the top of the order but soon good bowling led to a collapse leaving us 4-41 after 15. A few partnerships were then formed and our side looked comfortable against good opposition to get to a respectable total of 180 all out. Keep it up fellas.

The 2nds bowlers were challenged by one key batsmen who ended up on 88. Our bowlers then kept it tight and managed to take many wickets. The wickets were spread around the bowlers which was a good result. The target set was 206 off 30 overs which unfortunately proved too much for the boys who ended up 9/144.

There is much room for improvement for everyone which is positive.

Main thing is that everyone is having the best time and everyone is bonding well.

Stand out performances today go to: Curtis McKinnon (2/57 off 10), Aaron Williams (40), Lachlan Harmer, Sam Jackson & Eddie Timpson (2 wickets).
