Overview

Similarly to Birds of Passage, the school offers students to go work with the Exodus Foundation at their Loaves and Fishes breakfast restaurant that serves the homeless breakfast and lunch every day. The works involved working inside the kitchen, making ingredients to go in meals prepared for the homeless.

Reflection

While having done similar things in the past with Birds of Passage, I found my experience at Loaves and Fishes to be very interesting. Having worked alongside others in the kitchen doing tedious tasks like peeling potatoes for hours on end gave me an idea of the kinds of things other people do for the homeless, and how much effort it takes to feed the homeless for free every day. I also happened to be working alongside criminals convicted to community service, allowing me to experience a whole different type of people I would encounter in the real world. I found my experience at Loaves and Fishes to be an enlightening and enjoyable one.
