The end of the athletics season culminates in the AAGPS athletics carnival. The carnival is one of the biggest and most eventful sporting days on the school calendar, with around 10,000 people attending to watch as well as compete in the various events.

While I was acting as a reserve for the 1500m and 3000m events, I still had the opportunity to stay in the athletes' tent as well as go up to the start line with those who were competing. I found this to be very rewarding, as I was able to fully immerse myself in the competitive experience of the carnival. As for the season overall, I slightly regret not trying the various other events on offer. I planned to try competing in the 3000m and 800m events on top of the 1500m however I was unable to due to sickness and injury. Despite this, I left the carnival with a sense of eagerness to once again compete in athletics for the school come next year.
